As night falls\, you’ll be transported to an eerie world where characters appear from behind trees\, magic is happening in the woods\, and nothing is but what is not. \nSomething unexpected is lurking behind you in this production of Shakespeare’s most seductive tragedy. \nAs night falls\, you’ll be transported to an eerie world where characters appear from behind trees\, magic is happening in the woods\, and nothing is but what is not. \nThis Years New Location\nDue to ongoing construction at our usual site\, this season’s Festival site is at the Dell at the top of the Old Zoo. It’s the same lovely location where we presented The Tempest in 2021\, but it is considerably smaller than our usual site on the main lawn of the Old Zoo. The Dell has a capacity of 450 audience members so we are requiring registration. (Registration is free! All events are admission-free!) \nUnlike last year\, there are no reserved pods. Seating is open General Admission\, first come\, first served. Registration opens Friday\, June 24 and all performances will be available to reserve your picnic spot on the grass. \nDo you want reserved chairs? Actual chairs with a back in a reserved bank of seats? Donate $200+ to our spring fundraising campaign and you will be thanked with up to 4 chairs at 1 performance!\nDonate by June 15 to get Early Access to reserve your chairs. You’ll also have access for all performance dates to register for General Admission.\nDonate by the end of our campaign (July 2) to be thanked with up to 4 reserved chairs at 1 performance. \nMake your contribution here. \n\nOther Performances Include:\n\nKNIGHT OF THE BURNING PESTLE\nby Francis Beaumont\nJuly 2 – July 31\nWednesday – Sunday @ 7:00 pm \nAs an acting troupe begins their scheduled performance\, two audience members jump onstage and demand their apprentice be written into the action. What follows is pure delight as the actors’ attempt to incorporate ever more fanciful suggestions. This rarely performed comedy written by a friend of Shakespeare’s is a wild joyride of a play and a love letter to the theatrical invention. Perfect for family audiences. \n\n\nThis season REGISTRATION is required! We are leaders in creating a truly diverse ensemble of artists\, and an equally diverse audience. We are passionate about our belief that shared theatrical experiences build a stronger\, more joyful\, more connected community. Los Angeles is our home. \nGuiding Principle\nOur work is based on the profound humanity of Shakespeare’s writing and we seek to reveal the commonalities of the human experience. \nFoundational Values\nCreativity\, Connection\, Integrity\, Excellence\, Joy \nIdentity\nWe are re-defining theater in Los Angeles and re-defining Los Angeles through theater. \nMission\n\n\nWe bring Los Angeles together through exuberant\, surprising productions of classical plays as well as new works. \n\n\nWe address the inequity of access to the performing arts through free and low-cost programming. \n\n\nWe create theater that is dynamic\, inclusive\, and accessible; enriching our community and reaching new theater audiences. \n\n\nWe are committed to the vision of Los Angeles\n\n\nas a city at the forefront of theater creation in the nation. \n\n\nas a community in which participating in the arts is a crucial component of identifying as an Angeleno. \n\n\nas a home where access to the arts is granted to all. \n\n\nCore Operating Values\n\n\nOur theater is a place for our entire community to gather. \n\n\nWe begin with the assumption that our audience is smart\, discerning\, and extraordinary. \n\n\nWe provide equity of access\, for audiences and artists. \n\n\nWe foster diversity in the audience and artistic ensemble and believe there is no higher value than inclusion. \n\n\nWe hold that performances are for the audience\, and their enjoyment and satisfaction are of paramount importance. \n\n\nWe seek out long-term and deep relationships with artists. \n\n\nWe believe creative storytelling and clarity of language are of greater value than the technical elements of contemporary theater. \n\n\nWe emphasize collaboration in the act of theater-making. \n\n\n\n  \nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nwww.iscla.org/festival-2022\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n  \n \n\n \n Share via:\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Facebook\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Twitter\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n More
