DESCRIPTION:Join the African American Cultural Center of Long Beach\, PBS SoCal | KCET and KJAZZ for this exciting Black History Month celebration!\n\n\nPBS SoCal | KCET in partnership with the African American Cultural Center of Long Beach and public radio station KJAZZ (88.1 KKJZ) present MAKING BLACK AMERICA: A Social Celebration of Black Joy in Music\, Dance\, and Community. \n\nPerformances by:  \nRyan Porter   \nLA Swing Dance Posse  \nBlack Art Distrikt with Tashara Gavin-Moorehead   \nConversation with: Rhonda Hamilton\, Chester Whitmore\, Ryan Porter\, and Black Art Distrikt  \nScreening: Making Black America: Through the Grapevine    \nFood by: Women in Action Reaching Out   \n\nMix\, mingle\, and take in the festivities of this unique Black History Month event!  \nFeaturing an homage to rent parties\, dance lessons\, food inspired by the annual family reunion\, and a children’s corner. Guests are encouraged to come in their favorite 1920s to 1970s attire.  \nThis event is Inspired by the stories and themes presented in the four-part PBS television series MAKING BLACK AMERICA\, which chronicles the vast social networks and organizations created by and for Black people.   \n\n\nMajor corporate support for MAKING BLACK AMERICA: THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE is provided by Bank of America.
