Our routes are inclusive\, welcoming everyone regardless of age or ability. Presented by Metro\, this CicLAvia-South LA promises an adventure for all. \nStay updated on event news by joining our email list. Use the CicLAvia digital map to plan your day\, exploring businesses\, local attractions\, and exciting activities along the route and at Hubs during the event on December 3! \n \nHere are some things to know before you go:\n\nCicLAvia is FREE!\nCicLAvia lasts from 9am to 3pm.\nCicLAvia closes streets to car traffic and opens them for people to walk\, skate\, bike\, play\, and explore parts of Los Angeles County.\nCicLAvia is not a race! There’s no starting point or finish line—begin where you like and enjoy the day your way.\nCicLAvia traffic flows in two directions\, just like regular traffic. Check out more rules of the route.\nAs a general rule of thumb\, only people-powered vehicles are allowed\, with exceptions for persons with disabilities. That means we do not allow electric scooters\, skateboards\, hoverboards\, unicycles\, motorcycles and other non-people-powered vehicles\, but we do allow motorized wheelchairs and related vehicles for people with disabilities. We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy our route.\nAre e-bikes allowed? Class 1 e-bike pedal-assist allowed. Class 2 e-bikes allowed when throttle is powered off. Class 3 e-bikes allowed when pedal-assist is powered off. Learn more here. Mitchell’s 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration & Resource Fair\, a free community event that raises awareness of the historical impact of Juneteenth and creates a space for redefining what freedom means today. This joyous event includes live performances\, food trucks\, activities\, and access to community and county services\, and creates a necessary space for celebrating joy and redefining what freedom means today with empowering discussions\, performances\, and activities. Available resources include on-site record expungement\, mental health services\, support with tenant protections and more. Mitchell\, Second District. “The ability to safely pedal\, skate\, or walk your way to a free event packed with entertainment\, resources\, and access to critical on-site county services – like mental health support\, record expungement\, and tenant/landlord protections – is how we can uplift the significance of Juneteenth while redefining what freedom means today.” \nWith Hubs and plenty of activities and programs along the route\, CicLAvia-South LA will be both fun and engaging for all to enjoy. Hubs are walking zones (bike dismounts) and meeting points along the route offering additional programming and activities. CicLAvia-South LA will have four hubs: Exposition Park Hub located on Vermont Ave between Exposition Blvd and MLK Jr Blvd; Vermont Slauson Hub located on Vermont between Slauson Ave and Gage Ave; Westmont Hub located on Vermont between Manchester Ave and 92nd St; and Juneteenth Hub located on Century Ave at Western Ave. Hubs have family-friendly activities\, restrooms\, free water refilling stations\, free basic bike repair\, bike parking\, and first aid. Free pedicab rides\, sponsored by AARP\, are available at each information booth. \nInspired by Bogotá’s weekly ciclovía\, CicLAvia has been temporarily closing streets to car traffic and opening them as public parks in Los Angeles since 2010. Now\, with more than 275 miles of open streets\, these beloved\, always free to attend events are a celebration of L.A.’s diverse and vibrant communities. CicLAvia car-free streets connect all of us to the neighborhoods where we live\, work\, shop\, learn\, and play. Active participants at CicLAvia use people-powered mobility to navigate public streets in a safe and joyful way. Along the way there is shopping at local businesses\, access to cultural and architectural gems\, using open streets as spaces to connect with each other\, and making a positive impact on the environment by creating a more sustainable and climate resilient city and region. Over the past 13 years CicLAvia has helped communities re-imagine a greener and cleaner Los Angeles\, while also promoting equitable transportation options\, healthier lifestyles\, and closer connections to community. \nOnly people-powered vehicles are allowed.
