Attracting over 500,000 visitors each year, the Alhambra Library offers a wealth of learning opportunities, dynamic programming, and educational resources for people of all ages. The library is dedicated to providing exceptional service to the vibrant and diverse community of Alhambra.

In 2008, the library opened its doors to a new building that boasts over 45,000 square feet of space and houses more than 200,000 items in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese. On the first floor, visitors can find the children’s room, teen room, adult fiction, audiobooks, the community languages collection, as well as newspapers and magazines. The second floor hosts adult non-fiction, the microfilm collection, study rooms, and the Friends Book Store.

Recently launched in 2021, the Tales of Alhambra Mobile Library has been making regular visits to parks, schools, and other locations throughout Alhambra. This new initiative allows visitors to register for a library card, check out materials, and pick up programming and activity kits at any Mobile Library visit. The Alhambra Library prides itself on providing accessible and inclusive services to its community. From early literacy programs to book clubs, the library has something for everyone. Additionally, the library offers free access to digital resources such as eBooks, audiobooks, and online databases. These resources are available 24/7 to anyone with a library card, making it easy for individuals to pursue their interests and passions at any time.
