Little Free Library

Little Free Library

Walking home from school last year, my son, my wife and I came across what looked like a little red school house on a stick. I wasn’t what is was, was a Little Free Library. The school house has books that you can freely take. No due dates. No fines. No library cards. Anyone who wants a book can take one. Or give one!

Little Free Library was the inspiration of Todd Bol, who in the fall of 2009 came up with the idea to honor his late mother, a book-loving teacher.

The Los Angeles area is already home to almost 75 such libraries; use the Little Free Library map to find exact addresses for boxes in Hollywood, Culver City, Westchester, Marina Del Rey, Burbank, and beyond. More locations will certainly be springing up soon.
