DESCRIPTION:The 90 West Lounge is located in Marina Del Rey. This cozy spot offers complimentary hot dogs during “Monday Night Trivia” from 8pm to 10pm. Established in 2007\, the decorum was designed to resemble that of a stateroom aboard an old ocean liner. Cherry-stained hardwood covers the bar\, wall to wall\, in handmade wood craftsmanship giving the 90 West Lounge a truly unique feel. Our gorgeous bar is somewhat of a hidden treasure in the back of the Marina Plaza\, adjacent to Ronnie’s Diner. Today\, under new ownership as of May 2011\, it is now an upscale dive bar with a feeling of Cheers where “everyone knows your name.” \nOur comfy little bar has a full liquor license\, 5 beers on tap\, over 25 bottles beers\, great staff\, gorgeous pool table\, outdoor seating and 7 TV’S! 90 West Lounge is one of those “Cheers”-style dives that’s just friendly\, fun and wonderfully low-key—and yes\, they’re big-time sports-friendly (and dog-friendly!). They have a first-class selection selection of beer\, really good cocktails (big cocktails!)\, and of course—seven TVs for your football-viewing pleasure. If you like BBQ\, you’ll want to hit this place up for their NFL Sunday event where you can dive into some fine barbecue for just a small donation. \nOur specialty is being friendly. Walk in a stranger and I can almost guarantee you leave as a friend (if you aren’t thefake Hollywood type). We are the “around the corner” neighborhood kind of bar. Our bartenders remember your name and what you drink. Cocktails or a cold beer can be enjoyed on our patio\, overlooking a gorgeous sunset daily. We have plenty of parking\, a huge spirit selection and pitchers of draft beer. Hope to see you here soon!

DESCRIPTION:EVERY MONDAY & THURSDAY @ Beverly Hills Public Library\n“Mother Goose Storytime” Every Monday & Thursday\, the Beverly Hills Public Library hosts Mother Goose Storytime\, for ages 18 months and up A 20 minute story time followed by caregiver/child reading time. Featuring stories and songs. It’s FREE! No registration is required. Meets in Children’s Library Theater. \nStorytime consists of learning rhymes and songs\, reading age-appropriate books\, and spending quality time with your children. Research has found that children learn to read best when the five practices of playing\, talking\, singing\, writing\, and reading are nurtured. There are many ways parents can begin helping their children learn even as babies. The storytime program is a really great opportunity for parents to see these simple practices modeled so they can do them at home. \nChildren learning at Storytime\n \nWe hope to inspire parents and caregivers to read\, sing\, play and share tickles and bounces throughout the day with their little ones because they recognize that it supports their baby’s healthy development–and because they’ve experienced firsthand just how fun it is at the library! \nLibrarians find joy in sharing the magic “Mother Goose Storytime”\n \nChildren develop: (1) Literacy skills through interactive nursery rhymes; (2) A love for learning through music\, books and play that builds healthy bodies and healthy minds; (3)  Fine and gross motor skills through fingerplays and dances and physical exercise; (4) Social and emotional skills such as taking turns\, follow directions\, showing appreciations to others\, developing confidence in themselves and playing with other children. \n \nIt’s never too early to take your children to story time. we’re fortunate because there are story times happening all over town\, at different times and days of the week so you’re sure to find (at least) one that fits in with your family’s schedule. It’s free\, required no registration\, and takes place in one of our favorite libraries in town. \nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nbeverlyhills.org\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n  \n

But two out of three children living in poverty have no books to call their own. \n  \n \nBook-sharing boxes play an essential role by providing 24/7 access to books (and encouraging a love of reading!) in areas where books are scarce. \nAt the Little Free Library nonprofit\, we’re working to fill book deserts and place libraries where they can make a big impact through our Impact Library Program. We’ve donated more than 1\,000 libraries through this program to-date. \n  \n \n  \nThe Los Angeles area is already home to almost 75 such libraries; use the Little Free Library map to find exact addresses for boxes in Hollywood\, Culver City\, Westchester\, Marina Del Rey\, Burbank\, and beyond.
