Curated by local DJ\, music mastermind\, and event producer\, Aaron Byrd\, this series will include a free coffee for all attendees and a selection of bites by Convene! \n  \nABOUT THE CURATOR: \nAaron Byrd has always had a desire and curiosity to seek out new experiences\, people\, places and\, most of all\, music. Having visited 17 countries (so far) and spending at least three hours a day listening to new music\, it’s safe to say music and travel are his biggest passions in life. \nHis attraction to the unknown and thirst for discovery has fueled an eclectic and expansive taste in music\, from the underground hip hop scene the LA native explored as a teenager to his love of Guaguanco from Cuba. An Engineering major at UCLA\, it’s not surprising that he likes to dig into the roots of where things begin\, from tango to trip hop. He fuses musical connections across all borders\, boundaries and timelines because what he looks for is more than a catchy beat. \nSince his start at KCRW in 2007\, Byrd has appeared on the front page of the New York Times and in both the LA Times and LA Weekly. He is called on to curate a wide range of events around town\, from post-performance events at the LA Opera to a weekly live performance series at a boutique West Hollywood hotel. While beach yoga may make you feel like you’re on vacation\, it has plenty of health benefits too. \n\n\n\n\n\nExercising outside can greatly enhance your creative mind.\nAll exercise in general is a creativity enhancer. The parts of your brain that become activated during exercise can help to enhance creativity. There is an area of the brain called the hippocampus\, your cells can regenerate faster if you exercise for at least 30 minutes per day. When you take your exercise outside\, it can help to enhance your creativity even further. Beach yoga can actually help you become more creative the more you participate in this activity. \n \nIt’s important to commune with nature. We humans forget about this sometimes. Yet sometimes we need to get back into nature. The sand in your feet and the fresh air on your skin can all help your body in different ways. \nBreathing in the sea air has many health benefits that are only enhanced with beach yoga.\nYour body can actually absorb oxygen easier thanks to the negative ions that are present in the ocean air. These negative ions can also help naturally boost your serotonin\, which can help you feel more relaxed and happier during your yoga session. As an added bonus\, salt also has antibacterial properties. This mean that you’ll be able to recover faster from any infections or bacteria that you may have picked up throughout the week. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhen you do your yoga on the beach\, you need to find a way to remain in downward dog without losing your focus to bugs\, birds and any other disturbances that you might encounter.
