That said\, this kickback-casual\, Venice Beach OG spot has great beer & an even better burgers\, served on a sesame-studded egg bun with standard toppings (lettuce\, tomato\, red onion\, mayo\, mustard\, and relish) and add-ons like cheddar\, Swiss\, chili\, and bacon. Sadly\, no fries 🙁  The bar’s has a tiki hut style outside\, but inside is 100% dive bar with a pool table and TVs. and lots of great live music. \n \n  \n\nLIVE MUSIC\n\n\nLocal L.A. bands play live music every Friday\, Saturday & Sunday 5pm \nCheck out this weeks lineup on Facebook \n\n \n  \n\nHAPPY HOUR\nMon–Fri  4pm-8pm \n\n\nDaily Breakfast 8AM–12PM\nLunch/Dinner 12pm-1AM \n \n*Kitchen closes 1AM \nBEER & WINE ?? SUMMARY:THE DEEP END
DESCRIPTION:EVERY FRIDAY– DTLA\nParty with us to the Deep End this weekend at Upstairs\, Ace Hotel brought to you by BRIGGS! Party with the highest energy and sing your heart out to the music! \n \nJoin Briggs Upstairs for a smooth mix of r&b\, hip hop and rap. \nBriggs is well known as a DJ\, A&R\, Songwriter\, and Creative Director. Briggs was born and raised in Los Angeles\, California. He is known for playing 90s 2000s hip hop and R&B sprinkled in with the now top 40s hits. His party’s take you back along memory lane all while keeping you moving and singing the whole night. \nWith Special Guest appearances every week bringing you the best 90s\, 2000s\, Hip-Hop\, R&B\, and Afrobeats! Party like never before!! \nSEE YOU THERE! \n21+ / Free for everyone. \n\n \n929 South Broadway Los Angeles\, CA 90015 United States \n \nIn historic Downtown Los Angeles\, where the grit meets the glamour.\nWelcome to Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles\, where the grit meets the glamour! Located on Broadway and 9th Street at the southernmost point of the Broadway Histroic Theater District\, offers seven fresh and minimalist rooms and suites. Not only do they serve palette-bursting delicacies in their restaurant\, but you can also head up to its rooftop bar where you can dip in their pool while sipping cool drinks by day and attend jaw-dropping parties at night! \n \nThe main attraction is the restored United Artists THeater which occupies three floors of the 13-story building and has a 1\,600-seat auditorium. The building stands as a shining monument to the American artistic spirit and theatrical history. The theater exemplifies the love of Spanish castles and cathedral stonework. \n \nBuilt in 1927 as the flagship movie palace for United Artists — the maverick film studio founded by Mary Pickford\, Douglas Fairbanks\, D.W Griffith\, and Charlie Chaplin — The Theatre at Ace Hotel is our loving reanimation of one of the city’s most remarkable gems. It’s a delicately restored\, 1\,600-seat cathedral to the arts\, with a three-story\, 2\,300 square foot grand lobby\, an ornate open balcony\, and a vaulted ceiling dotted with thousands of mirrors that glimmer like tiny stars. \n \nSince returning The Theatre to its storied splendor\, we’ve played host to hundreds of meaningful\, nearly sacred\, wholly rock and roll experiences: large-scale concerts\, major movie premieres\, sold-out dance performances — if it fits inside the proscenium\, we’ve probably presented it. Retrofitted with a state-of-the-art digital projection system and cinema sound\, an independent\, ultramodern live sound system\, plus an elaborate contemporary stage lighting system\, The Theatre at Ace Hotel is a radically inclusive stage fit for our heart’s royalty — artists\, musicians\, visionaries and cultural igniters. \n\nVersatile spaces made for memories of all shapes and sizes\n \n\nWhether you’re hosting a concert\, film screening\, holiday soiree\, workshop\, record launch\, dinner\, reception\, or something all your own\, we’ve got the canvas\, menus\, and staff to make it amazing. Get all the details and anything you need when you reach out to the team. \nWe believe in celebrations of all sizes\, there’s no reason too big or too small to mark the moment. Flexible enough to suit whatever you’ve got in mind\, Ace Hotel DTLA’s private spaces hold the magnetism of Old Hollywood within a glorious Spanish Gothic structure. \n \nGo for cinematic sights and the pool Upstairs\, host a cozy café-like affair on the Mezzanine or truly throw something for the ages in our magical movie palace next door. Each of our spaces is a generous canvas\, adaptable for everything from culinary workshops\, record launches\, dinners\, receptions\, or whatever you need us to be. \n  \nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nwww.eventbrite.com/e/the-deep-end-tickets\n \n  \nFind more

SUMMARY:Net Cruze Coffee and Cars
DESCRIPTION:Net Cruze Cars And Coffee- Westchester\, California\nNet Cruze Cars And Coffee events have been going for decades.  And that was news to me upon my first stop in mid-August. \nBut they’re in a new location.  And it’s kind of tricky in that it’s a huge parking lot behind the 99-cents store in Westchester.  Further\, this is a cool event worth checking out for sure. \nSo cars from the ’30s through ’50s are pretty well represented.  And that’s both originals and customs.  Then\, when I was there\, there was a Corvette Club represented too.  All newer C7s but nicely done as well. \nBut everyone and everything is welcome.  For instance\, there was an older Bronco\, a newer Porsche\, and even a Studebaker on hand. \nAdditionally\, the organizers offered coffee and pastries.  Plus a raffle drawing toward the end that kept everyone on hand for cash prizes\, gas cards\, and even handbags for the ladies. \n\n \n1939 Buick \n\nNet Cruze Cars And Coffee – Westchester\, California\nLocation: 6835 La Tijera Blvd.\nAdmission: Free\nVehicle registration: Free \n  \nHours\n2nd and 4th Saturdays: 9:00am – 12:00pm \n\n  \nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nhttps://www.idrivesocal.com\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n

SUMMARY:TODAY @ CAAM
DESCRIPTION:TODAY @ CAAM – Exposition Park\nCAMM is pleased to present \n  \n  \n  \n\n \n600 State Dr\, Los Angeles\, CA 90037\, USA \n\nABOUT CAAM\nThe California African American Museum‘s mission is to research\, collect\, preserve\, and interpret for public enrichment the history\, art\, and culture of African Americans with an emphasis on California and the western United States. \nFounded in 1977\, CAAM has a long and rich history. The first African American museum of art\, history\, and culture fully supported by a state\, CAAM was the direct result of a sustained\, multiyear campaign of activism undertaken by visionary founders and community members. Its creation was an early and tangible recognition by the State of California of the critically important role African Americans have played in the American West’s cultural\, economic\, and political development. \n \nCAAM’s permanent collection consists of over 5\,000 objects ranging from the 1800s to the present. It encompasses paintings\, photographs\, film\, sculpture\, historical documents\, and artifacts\, and it spans nineteenth-century landscape paintings to modern artworks to contemporary mixed-media reflections on cultural and political events. The Museum’s first acquisitions included a bronze bust of civil rights activist Dr. Mary Mcleod Bethune by artist Richmond Barthé and a sculpture by artist Maren Hassinger\, then at the start of her career. These laid the perfect groundwork for CAAM’s mandate to assemble a comprehensive\, thoughtful\, and wide-reaching collection. \nCAAM’s deepest holdings include art made or connected to African Americans in California and the western United States. However\, the Museum also has significant works of contemporary art from the African diaspora (including Haiti\, Brazil\, and Jamaica)\, as well as traditional African art from Western\, Central\, and Sub-Saharan Africa. CAAM aims to represent the diverse contributions of African Americans in the United States\, but also to interpret how the past has affected identity in the present. \n \nVISIT\nThe California African American Museum is located in the heart of Los Angeles\, just steps away from USC\, the California Science Center\, and the Natural History Museum. We are accessible by car\, bus\, and Metro rail line. Admission\, exhibitions\, programs\, and events are always free and open to the public. \nDriving and Parking\nIf you are driving\, CAAM is at the corner of Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard\, just west of the 110 Freeway. Please note that our parking lot entrance is at 39th and Figueroa Streets. Please put that cross-section into your maps search or GPS device. \nParking in Exposition Park is $15 during the day; $18 after 5 pm. \n \nBus and Rail\nFor directions to get to CAAM via bus or rail\, please visit www.metro.net. \nCAAM and Exposition Park are serviced by the Metro Expo Line in the light rail system. Our station is Expo Park/USC. \nYou can also call for route information and general service questions at 1-800-COMMUTE (1-800-266-6883). \n\nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nwww.eventbrite.com/e/black-history-month\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n

For now\, the live events take place weekly. \n \nHigh Low sits across the street from Tam O’Shanter\, and steps away from the Morrison\, Bigfoot Lodge\, and the Roost\, while a second row of noteworthy bars is three-minute rideshare or 15-minute walk to Glendale Boulevard’s Club Tee Gee\, Link N’ Hops\, or the Oeno Vino Wine Shop & Bar. Glendale Tap is also only one mile away. \n \n\nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nhttps://thehighlowbar.com/\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n

SUMMARY:The Venice Oceanarium
DESCRIPTION:SUNDAYS- Venice Beach Pier\nVenice Oceanarium EVERY SUNDAY\, 11am – 2pm. @ Venice Pier. A Museum without Walls teaches kids about Marine Biology & the Santa Monica Bay!  \nOur oceanographic display includes rare specimens\, shark jaws\, and historical artifacts. Be a Citizen Scientist and help us gather ocean data from our water testing kits. Observe grains of sand and seawater samples under our microscopes. Read ocean-inspired poetry\, draw\, and learn about the sea life just beneath the pier. We have new enlightening programs every week. \nThe pier juts 1000 feet out over the open sea\, with saltwater breezes and spectacular coastline views! Besides our marine specimens\, you’ll see migratory birds perched on the pilings\, dolphins\, interesting catches reeled in\, and local surfer species. \n \nThe Venice Oceanarium is a non-profit based in Venice Beach\, California. Just steps away from the world-famous Venice Boardwalk\, there are ecosystems teeming with wildlife waiting to be explored. Since 1995\, countless people have enjoyed our outdoor classrooms through hands-on learning. \nOUR MISSION is to ignite a passion for the abundance\, diversity\, and significance of the web of life in our ocean and its shores. The Venice Oceanarium emphasizes the powerful and enduring emotional and aesthetic influences of the oceans on human culture. \nOUR VISION is to build a permanent exhibit on the Venice Pier that educates and inspires visitors about the unique and wondrous life forms in our local ocean. \n\nAbout Venice Oceanarium\nBack in 1995 our founder\, Tim Rudnick\, organized a weekend-long marathon reading of Moby-Dick at the Venice Beach breakwater. Reliving life aboard a whaling ship and Melville’s soul-searching journey while the group huddled for warmth on the sand was a transformative experience. Tim realized the importance of learning outside of the traditional classroom and founded the Venice Oceanarium\, a Museum Without Walls. \n \nThis concept of blending the arts and sciences is the core of our programming. We believe that our integrative curriculum inspires kids of all ages to be stewards of our precious oceans. \nOver the years we’ve expanded our outreach to include our highly anticipated annual grunion party\, weekly Marine Biology pop-up labs at the end of the Venice Pier\, classes at local schools and youth centers\, tidepool talks\, wetland walks\, and other excursions. \nVenice Beach: An Urban Coastal Park\n \nVenice Beach is a wonderful juxtaposition of urban life and natural wonder. Just steps from the world-famous Venice Beach Boardwalk’s street artists and performers are miles of beautiful shoreline to explore. Wide sandy beaches\, crashing waves\, shells\, seaweed\, birds\, and other wildlife coexist with surfers\, sunbathers\, and sandcastles. \nThe tidepools at the Venice Beach Breakwater are teeming with wildlife (to be enjoyed with your eyes only) as the iconic and colorful Venice graffiti walls loom in the background. There’s a secret reef\, and beautiful wetlands\, and on a clear day\, you can see Malibu and Catalina Island. \nMillions of locals and visitors enjoy our beaches. Few stop to really appreciate the rare treasures it has to offer. Our mission is to excite\, engage and inspire kids of all ages to appreciate our unique urban coast. \nExperiential Learning\n \nThe Venice Oceanarium is a Museum Without Walls. Our programs combine science with the arts to encourage kids (of all ages) to appreciate the environment and therefore become stewards of our oceans. We believe that this integrative curriculum of poetry\, literature\, music\, drawing\, and performance arts teaches by experiencing the world around us on a more profound level than books and classrooms alone provide. \nWe design our events and activities to raise awareness of the natural wonders of Venice Beach. Join us on our learning expedition! \n\nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \nwww.veniceoceanarium.org/programs\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n

The museum’s mission is to further intercultural understanding through the arts of Asia and the Pacific Islands. \nThe museum’s historic building has served as a center for art\, culture\, and learning in Pasadena since its construction in 1924 by pioneering collector and entrepreneur Grace Nicholson (1877-1948) as her residence\, galleries\, and Treasure House/emporium. Ms. Nicholson’s championing of Asian art early in the century set the tone for much of the Pasadena community’s arts-related activities during the ensuing decades.
