When his children were young\, Walt\, a Los Feliz denizen\, took them to the merry-go-round on weekends. During one visit\, while sitting on a bench watching his kids circle round and round\, he was inspired to create a large scale gathering site that the whole family could enjoy. His dream was realized on July 17\, 1955\, when Disneyland opened to the public. \n \n  \nClassic Car Show with a little coffee and some amazing automobiles\nLast Sunday of every month\n  \n \nCars & Coffee Los Angeles was founded to bring together like-minded automotive\, photography\, and design enthusiasts. The weekly event is celebration of Black culture\, art\, music and dance. \n\n  \n \n\nWeekly crowds come to support Black owned businesses and try the flavors from around the globe. The village is one of the most prominent Black cultural spaces in Los Angeles\, and it is a symbol of Black life in this city. \n  \n \n\n\nEverySunday from 3:00pm until dusk the African beats of the drums can be heard throughout the neighborhood. Drummers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in this exciting community event. Leimert Park has been a meeting place for the people of Los Angeles for at least since the early 80s. \nThe drum circles feature musical styles from across the African continent\, with local drummers join with others coming from various parts of Africa\, Latin America\, the Caribbean islands. As the sun begins to set\, find your perfect spot on the lush green lawn—it’s a first-come\, first-served seating extravaganza! Arriving early is highly encouraged to secure the best vantage point for an unforgettable evening under the stars. \nJULY 30 – Kenny Metcalf as Elton John\n \nAccomplished musician and vocalist\, Kenny Metcalf recreates the multiple Grammy-winning legend and flamboyant superstar in each and every performance. Dazzling outfits\, stunning vocals\, and a spectacular backing band complete this phenomenal reproduction that brings the audience on an adventure of both sight and sound. \n  \nPlease note that pets\, barbecues\, skateboards\, scooters\, and rollerblades are not permitted within the park grounds. Our dedicated concert staff and security team are on hand to assist\, but we kindly ask that you keep an eye on your personal belongings. \nLet the music transport you to new heights as you revel in the joyous ambiance of the Manhattan Beach Summer Concerts in the Park.
