Others will have In-Person options. \nThe 4 week Online classes will require a $50 deposit to reserve your spot\, with the rest due prior to the start of classes. NO outside food or coolers are allowed at this event⁠ \n?️ Please support our Fisherman’s Village businesses\n\n\n\nFisherman’s Village\n13737 Fiji Way\, Marina del Rey\, CA\, 90292 \nFisherman’s Village is a replica of a New England seaport and fishing town. You can stroll the quiet harborfront to enjoy views of the Marina\, passing sailboats\, and wildlife. There are several restaurants\, the Marina del Rey Historical Society’s exhibit space\, and a smattering of shops. Free live music is offered on the plaza on Saturday and Sunday afternoons year-round (weather depending); find the current lineup below or in our events calendar. The village is the boarding place for City Cruises by Hornblower’s year-round dining cruises and Marina del Rey Parasailing (closed November-February)\, as well as one of the Marina’s destinations for hourly and daily rentals of sailing and power boats\, jet skis\, kayaks\, and paddle boards. SUMMARY:Train Rides in Torrance
DESCRIPTION:EVERY 1st SUNDAY & 3rd SATURDAY- Wilson Park\, Torrance\nSouthern California Live Steamers provides mini-train rides on public run days every first Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and every third Saturday of the month from noon to 3 p.m. All SCLS members are City of Torrance volunteers with annual fingerprint clearance and are not paid for their time expended on maintaining the trains and facility\, and providing the rides.Donations are appreciated. \n  \n \nIn 1987\, for the Torrance 75th anniversary event\, the City of Torrance asked SCLS if they could set up a small track on the back end of Wilson Park. At the time this was a vacant lot\, no trees and only weeds for vegetation. Considerable effort was expended by both the City and SCLS to prepare the area and lay the tracks necessary to run the trains. During the City’s 75th Anniversary Celebration in October 1987\, the free train rides were so well received by the public that the City sought to have SCLS run the trains on a regular basis. On May 11\, 1990\, the City and SCLS entered into a 25-year License Agreement allowing SCLS to provide free train rides at Wilson Park on a regular basis. A new home was found! \nANOTHER 25 YEARS \nThe mini-train rides have become a popular feature of Wilson Park. Originally\, free train rides were offered once a month on the first Sunday of each month. Today\, SCLS provides free train rides twice a month on the first Sunday and third Saturday of each month\, and on special occasions. The City and SCLS entered into another 25-year lease agreement thru May 11\, 2040. \nSouthern California Live Steamers\, Inc. operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization under IRS rules and is a registered California non-profit corporation. All of the income for the operation of SCLS is derived by donations from its members\, passengers and corporate sponsors\, and thru fundraisers. SCLS does not charge the passengers for rides on public run days\, though donations are accepted from our riders on public run days which is on the 1st Sunday and 3rd Saturday of each month. Funds received are used to pay SCLS expenses such as insurance\, maintenance costs\, facility upgrades\, fuel\, track repairs\, future track projects\, and other expenses. Complicated and powerful\, the work offers fresh ideas of what a table\, sculpture\, and memory can mean. \n  \n  \n \nUsing the recognizable form of a balloon twisted into the shape of a dog\, Koons has frozen a moment in time\, exaggerating both scale and material. \nBalloon Dog (Blue) is literal and abstract. El Dorado Archers is a Southern California archery club that competes at local and national tournaments but also maintains a local community program that teaches the basics of archery to the public. \n \nThe El Dorado Park Archery Fields are a great way for the community to learn about and to practice archery. The El Dorado Archers welcomes all family members 8 years of age and older! If you are interested in learning about archery\, the El Dorado Archers have classes for beginners every Saturday at the El Dorado Park Archery Field. Everyone is first required to take a Safety Class\, which costs $5 and runs from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. every weekend and sign up starts at 8:30 a.m. \n\nA $5 class fee will be charged regardless of using  personal equipment. Meet at the East Trailhead Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area to check-in and meet your Hike Leader! \n  \n \n9 AM: YOGA \nMeet at the 9/11 Memorial Tree at the Bluff (nearby the Burke Roche picnic area/Restrooms) \nThe yoga is fun and BEGINNER-friendly! \nFrequently Asked Questions\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow does this work? \nMeet at 8am at the East Trailhead of Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area\, which is at Don Lorenzo and La Brea. \nIf you intend on meeting for the hike\, route your car to “Don Lorenzo and La Brea.” There is street parking and other park lots nearby. You will need to cross the street and take the steps up to the East Trailhead map sign. \n​ \nUpon arrival\, each participant signs the liability form and the roster. \nYou will have the choice to join a Hike Leader to have a “respectful-distanced” mindful hike experience\, or you may take a self-guided hike. Your Hike Leader will hold space for introductions and mindful pauses during your hike towards the yoga location. Be prepared to say your name\, where you reside\, and your take on the theme of the week. Enter here\, take the road all the way up\, and park by the Burke Roche picnic area/restrooms if you want to ONLY join the 9am yoga. \n​ \nWhat kind of trail will the group hike?\nThere are many trails up to the yoga location but we plan to have Hike Leaders for our Signature moderate\, nature-full trail with inclines and declines. The trail will take us to up to the Bluff where there are restrooms and water fountains. This 2021 Season we will be debuting the Hummingbird trail (Park to Playa trail + Bowl loop)\, which is more flat and takes you through a beautiful hummingbird garden. Both hikes will be about 40-45 minutes. \n​ \nWhat if I only want to do the yoga class\, what is the easiest way to get to yoga at 9 am? \nYou can pay $7 cash for parking\, enter at the La Cienega entrance\, and park right by the Burke Roche picnic area/restrooms. Walk about 2 minutes down the Bluff to the 9/11 Memorial Tree. \n​ \nWho will be teaching the yoga classes? Will the classes be beginner-friendly? \nWe have an awesome team of Hike to Yoga LA Yoga Teachers\, including Hike to Yoga LA Founder\, Laurie\, who enjoys teaching her signature Yoga Wave Circle!\nOur teacher team is diverse in age and body-type\, and are ready to inspire you with community\, nature and of course\, yoga!\nYoga class is 60 minutes long\, starts promptly at 9 am. Please be on time as it is distracting to join when class has already started. \n​ \nWhat should I bring?\nYour yoga mat\, yoga towel\, beach towel\, or just do yoga on the earth! (Might be wet from morning dew!) It is advisable that you have a mat strap or backpack since you are responsible for your own mat!\nDon’t forget your own reusable water bottle to stay hydrated; there is a water fountain by the Bluff area. \n​ \nWhat happens after the Hike to Yoga classes?
