Mathias Botanical Garden (MEMBG) is a living museum\, having special collections designed to assist the undergraduate teaching mission at UCLA and to augment the capability for research on campus. MEMBG serves as a long-term repository for unusual plants\, a refugium for biodiversity. This facility offers its educational content to the campus community\, residents of Los Angeles\, and visitors from around the world to enhance learning about plants and promote greater appreciation for relevance of plants to society \nThe Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden seeks to promote botanical knowledge and appreciation of nature to the UCLA community and public at large. Its diverse plant collections are designed to assist the teaching and research missions at UCLA while creating a tranquil environment within the urban surroundings. The Garden acts as a community gathering place for a wide variety of groups and through its own events promotes plant conservation\, botanical research and horticulture. \nExplore our living museum featuring collections of plants from around the globe! Perhaps a chromed out\, spoked up low rider with a banana seat and some Ape hangers?  Maybe even a three wheeler trike with a sick ass sound system?  A custom beach cruiser with enough LED’s to light up LAX?  Whatever your jam\, you will be in good company at the VELP! \n \n“We are a group of Bicycle fanatics who ride every Sunday at Sunset in Venice Beach promoting Bicycle Safety.  Come join us for the Electric Light Parade must have safety lights and wheel lights will be available for purchase.  We meet every Sunday at Sunset\, at Windward Plaza on the Boardwalk\, down from the World famous Venice Sign.” The group travels up the Venice Bike Path to the Venice Pier\, in Marina del Rey at Hinano’s Bar. \n  \nVenice Beach\, which served as a US hippy hub of the 1960s\, is now seeing dozens of locals cruising its boardwalk late at night with brightly glowing rides. \nThe bicycle enthusiasts say they fit right in with the hundreds of performers\, artists and musicians that already call Venice Beach home. \n \n\nThis event promotes Bicycle Safety at Night.  As much as 100 people show up each Sunday night for a chance to join the community for few hours of fun. All are welcome whether if it’s your first time surfing\, part of your daily routine\, or don’t surf at all. We will teach you the basics of surf if it’s your first time. The Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round is a nostalgia-inducing gem that\, much like Disneyland\, is still enjoyed by the young and the young-at-heart decades after its inception. The small carousel\, which is tucked away into a quiet corner of the park\, served as Walt Disney’s inspiration for Disneyland. When his children were young\, Walt\, a Los Feliz denizen\, took them to the merry-go-round on weekends. During one visit\, while sitting on a bench watching his kids circle round and round\, he was inspired to create a large scale gathering site that the whole family could enjoy. His dream was realized on July 17\, 1955\, when Disneyland opened to the public. \n \n  \nClassic Car Show with a little coffee and some amazing automobiles\nLast Sunday of every month\n  \n \nCars & Coffee Los Angeles was founded to bring together like-minded automotive\, photography\, and design enthusiasts.
