Paul Getty Trust is partnering up with neighborhoods across Los Angeles to produce ten bespoke community-centric festivals that embrace the local community and showcase Getty-inspired programming. The objective of Getty 25 is to celebrate the joy of art throughout Los Angeles by meeting people where they live and creating enduring community partnerships for years to come. \n \nEach event will feature hands-on art workshops\, live music and performances\, an immersive digital experience of Getty collections\, giveaways\, and photo booths\, as well as food for purchase. All events are free\, no reservations are required. \n \nGetty 25 Celebrates Watts\nAugust 27 and 28\, 2022 11am–6pm \nJoin the Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) to celebrate Watts at WLCAC’s historic urban arts healing center. Interact with artists\, performers\, artisans\, and chefs\, enjoy traditional foods\, and discover Watts Towers–inspired mosaics and assemblage art. Revel in the sounds of Afro-Cuban rhythms\, hip-hop\, salsa\, drum circles\, spoken word/poetry\, jazz\, reggaeton\, and soul.
