DESCRIPTION:NOW OPEN  FRIDAY – SUNDAY- Griffith Park\nGriffith Observatory is a free-admission facility located on the south side of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. The building and grounds are accessible for all visitors. The building is busiest on weekends\, during summer and holiday periods\, and at sunset. \n\nGriffith Observatory’s grounds and roads are generally open the same hours as Griffith Park\, 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.\, every day. Access to Griffith Park is free\, though there is paid parking closest to the Observatory. There are public restrooms located next to the Observatory parking lot. Trailheads on Observatory grounds lead to Mount Hollywood\, the Greek Theatre area\, and Fern Dell. \n\n\nDaily Programs\n\nSamuel Oschin Planetarium\n\n\nOur most prominent daily programs are the shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium\, With its spectacular Zeiss star projector\, digital projection system\, state-of-the-art aluminum dome\, comfy seats\, sound system\, and theatrical lighting\, the 290-seat Samuel Oschin Planetarium theater is the finest planetarium in the world. Every show is presented by a live\, engaging storyteller\, and one of our three current shows is offered every 60 to 90 minutes each day the Observatory is open. \n\nPublic Telescopes\nthe Observatory offers many other stellar experiences while you visit. During the day\, you can see the live image of the Sun on our coelostat (solar telescope) in the Ahmanson Hall of the Sky. Each evening\, there are free public telescopes on the roof and lawn for you to observe the night sky. \n \nLeonard Nimoy narrates The Once and Future Griffith Observatory movie profiling the Observatory’s history\, renovation\, and current offerings. You can join our staff for talks about local noon\, the Tesla Coil\,and The Big Picture\, or just walk through the exhibit galleries. \n \nDon’t forget to take in the views of Los Angeles\, get a bite to eat in the Café at the End of the Universe\, or buy a souvenir at the Stellar Emporium. There is a call upon us to help build a more just society. \nNoah’s Ark at the Skirball\n\n \n\nCrank up a giant conveyor belt to load up the animals two by two.  You will be able to put the finishing touches on the Ark\, then step on board to unpack and explore. \nThe Skirball Cultural Center invites you to make plans today to visit Noah’s Ark at the Skirball™\, the permanent\, award-winning children’s and family destination that’s the talk of the town! \nChoose from an array of public programs\, including the best in world music\, new and classic films\, thought-provoking readings and talks\, adult education classes on history\, art and literature\, and more—as well as engaging programs for the whole family. \n\n\nFREE tickets to all on Thursdays are first-come\, first-served (no advance tickets). Free tickets are subject to availability\, with a limit of ten tickets distributed per party.\nAll exhibitions\, including Noah’s Ark\, are included with Museum admission. \n \n\n\n\n\n\nDriving Directions\nThe Skirball Cultural Center is located in the Sepulveda Pass just off the 405 Freeway\, 2.5 miles south of the 101 Freeway. Traveling north or south on the 405\, take the Skirball Ctr. Dr. exit and make a right onto Sepulveda Blvd. For customized driving directions\, consult the Google Map and enter your starting address. \nRideshare and taxi drop-off—If you are visiting the Museum galleries or attending an event or program in Taper Courtyard or Haas Conference Center\, request to be dropped off outside the main entrance. If you are attending an event or program in Ahmanson Hall\, Herscher Hall\, Guerin Pavilion\, or Guerin Courtyard\, you may wish to be dropped off at the North Parking garage\, at the end of the Skirball’s main driveway. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParking Information\nVisitor parking is FREE at the Skirball\, except during the Skirball’s summertime Sunset Concerts\, which take place on six Thursday evenings in July and August. On Sunset Concerts evenings\, parking is $15 per car. Please note: The Skirball parking garages are for Skirball visitors only. \nParking is available in the Skirball’s northern parking garage (“North Parking”)\, located underground at the end of the Skirball’s main driveway. Parking is also available in in the eastern parking garage (“East Parking”)\, located across Sepulveda Blvd. \nElectric vehicle charging stations are located on L1 in the North Parking garage and P3 in East Parking garage. There is a four-hour time limit for use of these stations\, which are reserved for vehicles in the process of charging only. For the safety of you and other visitors\, please wrap the cord around the base. \nTo enter the North Parking garage—From Skirball Ctr. After a 2 year covid induced sabbatical\, we are coming back with Odd Nights at The Autry for our 7th season. For those that have enjoyed Odd Nights in the past\, we are excited to see you again with new sellers\, new food trucks\, and some new additions\, such as these cool picnic tables to rent and we have a couple food vendors that are looking at pre-selling charcuterie boards and other specialty items. \nThose of you have never experienced Odd Nights\, you are in for a treat! Odd Nights is the hidden gem of events located at the Autry Museum which is directly across from the LA Zoo. You can park at either the Autry or the LA Zoo for free. \n \nAdmission is only $5. Kids under 12 are free.\nBring a blanket\, your appetite and arrive early and stay late every third Friday from 6pm – 10PM. Odd Nights at The Autry runs April through September. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDon’t forget our live music lineup\, full bar and insane inflatables.
