DESCRIPTION:EVERY WEDNESDAY- Burton Chace Park\nEnjoy this free beginning drawing & watercolor art class with Cammie Richardson. Classes will take place in person and via Zoom. \nWatercolor Schedule Change – Wednesdays\, 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm \n*Registration is required and is available on a first-come\, first-serve basis. \nTo register email chacepark@bh.lacounty.gov. \nNOTE: Students must be 14 years or older to participate in this class. In-person classes are limited to 10 students. \n  \n\nBURTON CHACE PARK\n13650 Mindanao Way\, Marina Del Rey\, CA 90292 \n  \nThis beautiful 10-acre Burton W. Chace Park is a stunning destination in the Marina. Jutting out into the main channel\, it offers one of the best viewing areas of the harbor with water views on three sides. Hit the flat\, paved walking path along the perimeter a morning walk\, or relax on a bench to watch the sunset. The park is wheelchair and stroller accessible. \n \nVIRTUAL TOUR\n \nCovered picnic pavilions and a smattering of uncovered tables\, all with barbecue access\, make for a great family gathering. Picnic Pavilion A and an indoor multipurpose room are available to reserve by calling the park office at 424-526-7903. All other tables are first come\, first served. Gatherings of 50 people or more need to contact the park office for an event permit. \n \nBurton Chace Park is the site of many community events and festivals\, including the Old Fashioned Day in May\, the Summer Concert Series in July and August\, Marina Spooktacular in October\, and Marina Lights in December. Exchange tips\, stories\, and laughter as you relax by the water’s edge. \n\n \n4469 Admiralty Way\, Marina del Rey\, CA 90292 \n \nThe California Yacht Club is located in beautiful Marina del Rey\, which is the largest manmade small craft harbor in the Western Hemisphere. CYC is one of several clubs in the marina but is one of only two clubs that offers full services to its members. The current club facility was built in 1967 having relocated from its temporary facility elsewhere in the marina. The California Yacht Club was founded in 1922 in Wilmington Harbor near San Pedro. When Marina del Rey was constructed in the early 1960s\, CYC relocated. \n \nToday the club serves its very active and diverse membership needs by providing club programs\, events\, and facilities that have earned the respect of being one of the leading Yacht Clubs in the country. In addition to the striking views offered by its clubhouse\, the club has one of the finest boat anchorages in the marina. Only club members are allowed to rent slips at the club. Members can enjoy the use of the club’s spa and heated pool\, enjoy a game of paddle tennis or relax in the Member’s Lounge. The clubhouse and offices are open Wednesday through Sunday although the docks and grounds are accessible at any time. Members can enjoy the many dining services offered in addition to the many formal and informal social events that the club is known for hosting. The heart and soul of any yacht club is its boating activities.
