SUMMARY:First Thursday Skate Night with the LA Skate Hunnies
DESCRIPTION:EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT- Culver City\nJoin the LA Skate Hunnies for a beginner-friendly road skate that starts and ends at Ivy Station\, with an afterparty at LA Ale Works! \n\n\nJoin the LA Skate Hunnies for their first Thursday Night Skate\, right here at Ivy Station. Each night the group chooses a new theme\, this week’s is Prom! Come dressed to impress in formal attire. Theme is encouraged\, but not required. Meet on the main plaza\, near the elevators by the Great Lawn. \nFirst Thursday Night Skate is a community meetup for primarily roller skaters and rollerbladers\, but all wheels are welcome\, and you’ll often see cyclists and skateboarders join in on the fun! Participants will meet at Ivy Station to go out on a group ride around Culver City. The group passes through some of Culver City’s most iconic landmarks\, with lots of stops to dance\, rest\, or do whatever you’d like! The group will meet at LA Ale Works when the group ride ends around 9:30pm\, and stay until close at 11:00pm. \nThis Skate Night is beginner friendly\, but participants are expected to have control when skating and have basic skills to navigate road skating in a large group. Reach out to hello@laskatehunnies.com with any questions about route difficulty. \nLiability release is REQUIRED to skate\, and will be checked for each participant at the event. Please look out in your email for a link to complete the form\, or get ahead and sign the liability waiver on their community app\, Heylo! \nThis is a free event with free parking validation upon request. Parking is available in the lot accessible on Venice Blvd and National Blvd. Check in with an event organizer to make sure you receive parking validation. \n  \n \nAbout the LA Skate Hunnies:\nThe LA Skate Hunnies are a local roller skate group that offers free weekly community meetups\, skate lessons\, skate rentals\, wellness events\, and more. Or head to Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village for a family-friendly party atmosphere including synchronized music played over loudspeakers. \n\n\n\nWHAT TO KNOW\nThe fireworks show on Tuesday\, July 4\, 2023 starts at 9 p.m. and lasts 20 minutes. This is a popular event\, with visitors traveling to the area from throughout the Southland. Plan to arrive as early as 1 p.m. and stay in the Marina to avoid traffic. \nHOW TO GET AROUND: See “Getting Here” section below for alternative ways to get around the Marina once you have arrived in town; use these methods for transportation and other water activities to enjoy while you wait for the show. \nClick button to view 4th of July Fireworks flyer. The fireworks will be shot from a barge off the Marina’s south jetty.  You can view the show from virtually anywhere in Marina del Rey\, Venice Pier\, Playa Vista and Dockweiler Beach. \n\n\nVIEWS FROM THE WATER\nCity Cruises will offer special July 4 cruises. Find information about companies properly licensed to operate charters in the Marina here. \n  \nPARKING\nA special event parking rate ranging from $13 to $20 per vehicle for the public County parking lots in Marina del Rey will apply on July 4th. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nGETTING AROUND & STREET CLOSURES\nClick button for a full list of street closures and times. \nStreet closures will start as early as 1:00 p.m. and will continue throughout the day. Please note that the times and locations of street closures are subject to change at any time due to traffic conditions. \nOn July 4th\, the WaterBus will operate from noon until 11 p.m. Your wait time may be longer than the usual. \nGet around the Marina by riding Circuit\, a five-seat electric shuttle\, that you can either wave down when you see or download the RIDE CIRCUIT app on your phone to schedule a pick-up.
