Paul Getty Museum’s collection.This collection antiquities includes over 1\,200 works are on view in 23 galleries devoted to the permanent collection along with five additional galleries for changing exhibitions.  There are objects dating from 6\,500 B.C. to A.D. 400. \nThe Getty Villa offers an incomparable setting for the study and enjoyment of the arts. The Villa weaves together art\, performances\, family activities\, lectures\, theater\, scholarship\, conservation. There are other activities to create an integrated educational and cultural experience for all ages. The museum serves as a gateway to the classical past for students\, scholars\, specialized professionals\, and general audiences. \n\nThe Getty Villa’s Architecture\n\nExplore the groundbreaking architecture of the Getty Center in this 45 minute docent-led tour of the site. \n \n \nGardens are integral to the setting of the Getty Villa\, as they were in the ancient Roman home. Open spaces around the site feature bronze sculptures\, fountains\, and lush plantings of trees\, herbs\, and flowers used by the Romans. In ancient Roman times\, the outer peristyle garden would have been used to converse with guests and for solo contemplation. \n \n\nThe Getty Villa is Closed Mondays\nAdmission to the Getty Villa is free for the whole family. Each Villa ticket allows you to bring up to three children ages 15 and under with you in one car. The Getty Villa offers special educational programs for children. A special Family Forum gallery offers activities\, including decorating Greek vases and projecting shadows onto a screen that represents a Greek urn. The gallery has polystyrene props from Greek and Roman culture for children to handle and use to cast shadows. DESCRIPTION:EVERY WEEK\, EVERY RUN\, EVERY BODY- Santa Monica & Venice\nThe Venice Run Club is the heartbeat of Venice. A community of runners here to better ourselves and our community. Come run with us. \n48 for Change\nWith the combination of a global pandemic and civil unrest around racial injustice\, June of 2020 set the stage for important societal and human issues to finally come to light in a more permanent way. This was the same time that two friends\, Justin and Tyler\, decided they wanted to take action to make a difference in the injustices and inequality we see in our communities. \n  \n\n\n\nThe week of George Floyd’s passing\, Justin called Tyler voicing his frustration from Floyd’s murder and subsequent reactions\, and they joined forces to do a running challenge that very weekend that entailed running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. A GoFundMe was set up to collect funds from friends and family throughout the running challenge to donate to help support racial justice. \nWhat started as a way to take the mind off of the pressure cooker of injustice resulted in a massively successful and attention-grabbing fundraiser\, and eventually turned into a 501(c)3 nonprofit\, still strong and growing today: 48 For Change. \nAside from fundraising and donating\, Justin found that the community that gathered to run that weekend was something special\, and needed its own spotlight. A place where anyone can come and simply run with a group of good people.
