The Venice Oceanarium emphasizes the powerful and enduring emotional and aesthetic influences of the oceans on human culture. \nOUR VISION is to build a permanent exhibit on the Venice Pier that educates and inspires visitors about the unique and wondrous life forms in our local ocean. \n\nAbout Venice Oceanarium\nBack in 1995 our founder\, Tim Rudnick\, organized a weekend-long marathon reading of Moby-Dick at the Venice Beach breakwater. Reliving life aboard a whaling ship and Melville’s soul-searching journey while the group huddled for warmth on the sand was a transformative experience. Tim realized the importance of learning outside of the traditional classroom and founded the Venice Oceanarium\, a Museum Without Walls. \n \nThis concept of blending the arts and sciences is the core of our programming. There’s a secret reef\, and beautiful wetlands\, and on a clear day\, you can see Malibu and Catalina Island. \nMillions of locals and visitors enjoy our beaches. NO outside food or coolers are allowed at this event⁠ \n?️ Please support our Fisherman’s Village businesses\n\n\n\nFisherman’s Village\n13737 Fiji Way\, Marina del Rey\, CA\, 90292 \nFisherman’s Village is a replica of a New England seaport and fishing town. You can stroll the quiet harborfront to enjoy views of the Marina\, passing sailboats\, and wildlife. There are several restaurants\, the Marina del Rey Historical Society’s exhibit space\, and a smattering of shops. Free live music is offered on the plaza on Saturday and Sunday afternoons year-round (weather depending); find the current lineup below or in our events calendar. The village is the boarding place for City Cruises by Hornblower’s year-round dining cruises and Marina del Rey Parasailing (closed November-February)\, as well as one of the Marina’s destinations for hourly and daily rentals of sailing and power boats\, jet skis\, kayaks\, and paddle boards. Fisherman’s Village also serves as one of eight pick-up/drop-off locations for the WaterBus (operates during the summer only). Parking is available onsite for $2 (up to 2 hours)\, $4 ( 2-4 hours) with a daily max of $8. \nFisherman’s Village is offering free live concerts on weekends from 2-5 p.m. \n\n\n\n \nStroll the quiet harborfront to enjoy views of the Marina\, passing sailboats\, and wildlife\, or plan a fun day on the water.
