Karaoke is great here\, even if you’re not a fan. \n \nThe kitchen cranks out classic bar food that’s been called the best bar food in Los Angeles 7 days a week until midnight. The food is handmade and it’s one of the few bar kitchens known without a microwave or freezer. The menu is American bar food\, done right. The kitchen is open until midnight every night. \n \nThe bar offers solid pours and fair prices. Last call is at 1:30am every night. Drink prices haven’t changed for the last 20 years and are the lowest in town. Party reservations are free and there’s never a cover or minimum. DESCRIPTION:EVERY SUNDAY- in Historic Leimert Park\n\n\n\nEvery Sunday 10 am – 5 pm.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Leimert Park African Marketplace and Drum Circle takes park every Sunday in Leimert Park Village along Degnan Boulevard between 43rd Place and 43rd Street. \n\n  \n \n\nFor more than 25 yearsthe African Drum Circles & African American street vendors have been a mainstay of Leimert Park. The weekly event is celebration of Black culture\, art\, music and dance. \n\n  \n \n\nWeekly crowds come to support Black owned businesses and try the flavors from around the globe. The village is one of the most prominent Black cultural spaces in Los Angeles\, and it is a symbol of Black life in this city. \n  \n \n\n\nEverySunday from 3:00pm until dusk the African beats of the drums can be heard throughout the neighborhood. Drummers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in this exciting community event. Leimert Park has been a meeting place for the people of Los Angeles for at least since the early 80s. \nThe drum circles feature musical styles from across the African continent\, with local drummers join with others coming from various parts of Africa\, Latin America\, the Caribbean islands. Come run with us. \n48 for Change\nWith the combination of a global pandemic and civil unrest around racial injustice\, June of 2020 set the stage for important societal and human issues to finally come to light in a more permanent way. This was the same time that two friends\, Justin and Tyler\, decided they wanted to take action to make a difference in the injustices and inequality we see in our communities. \n  \n\n\n\nThe week of George Floyd’s passing\, Justin called Tyler voicing his frustration from Floyd’s murder and subsequent reactions\, and they joined forces to do a running challenge that very weekend that entailed running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. A GoFundMe was set up to collect funds from friends and family throughout the running challenge to donate to help support racial justice. \nWhat started as a way to take the mind off of the pressure cooker of injustice resulted in a massively successful and attention-grabbing fundraiser\, and eventually turned into a 501(c)3 nonprofit\, still strong and growing today: 48 For Change. \nAside from fundraising and donating\, Justin found that the community that gathered to run that weekend was something special\, and needed its own spotlight. A place where anyone can come and simply run with a group of good people. For over fifty years\, Robert Graham’s observation of the female form and use of scale allowed him to explore and create a range of intimate sized works and large public monuments\, widely celebrated for their precise iconic detail. \nThe sculptures were originally part of CRA/LA’s mission in 1985 to incorporate public art in redevelopment projects and revitalize Downtown Los Angeles. The four sculptures are currently situated in an exterior landscaped setting that Graham’s son\, Steven Graham\, consulted on as part of the renovation at Wells Fargo Center. \n  \n \nRobert Graham\, was a Mexican born sculptor\, and although you may not be familiar with his name\, you probably ARE familiar with some of his work. Graham’s monumental bronzes commemorate the human figure\, and are featured in 11 public places in and around the city of Angels. Including; The Olympic Gateway at the Memorial Coliseum\, The Torso at Rodeo Drive\, The Great Bronze Doors and Statue of Mary at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels\, and The Dance Door – Los Angeles Music Center \n  \n \nAnd now\, you can see his latest collection. DESCRIPTION:YOGA CLASSES- Hollywood\n\n\n\nHollywood Forever Cemetery presents Morning Yoga Classes every day but Friday starting at 9:30am. In Buddhist and Hindu teachings\, the Graveyard\, or Charnal grounds\, is a favored place of practice where yogis must confront our mortal destiny\, our fear of death\, and our aversion to impermanence. \n  \n \nIn the Summer of 2020\, as our favorite indoor Yoga studios were forced to close and we found ourselves less compliant in ZOOM classes\, a few of us started coming to Hollywood Forever to practice safely together in the mornings. \nWe are now honored to offer this experience to all yogis\, from beginners to advanced\, looking to deepen their practice in a safe outdoor setting with green grass and quacking ducks. \nWe practice on the Hollywood Forever Cemetery Fairbanks Lawn\, where Cinespia movies are screened\, so there is ample space to spread out and safely distance as you enrich your practice with our sangha community. \n \nAttendance Tips:Cost: Donation based \nParking: FREE! Park anywhere alongside the lawn.
