DESCRIPTION:EVERY SUNDAY- in Historic Leimert Park\n\n\n\nEvery Sunday 10 am – 5 pm.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Leimert Park African Marketplace and Drum Circle takes park every Sunday in Leimert Park Village along Degnan Boulevard between 43rd Place and 43rd Street. \n\n  \n \n\nFor more than 25 yearsthe African Drum Circles & African American street vendors have been a mainstay of Leimert Park. The weekly event is celebration of Black culture\, art\, music and dance. \n\n  \n \n\nWeekly crowds come to support Black owned businesses and try the flavors from around the globe. The village is one of the most prominent Black cultural spaces in Los Angeles\, and it is a symbol of Black life in this city. \n  \n \n\n\nEverySunday from 3:00pm until dusk the African beats of the drums can be heard throughout the neighborhood. Drummers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in this exciting community event. Leimert Park has been a meeting place for the people of Los Angeles for at least since the early 80s. \nThe drum circles feature musical styles from across the African continent\, with local drummers join with others coming from various parts of Africa\, Latin America\, the Caribbean islands. Leimert Park\, like mnay othe parts of Los Angeles\, has seen a evolution of this cultural space over the years.  But each year it continues to retain its position as an importance weekend cultural event\, and how the drum circle and marketplace are intertwined. \n \nThe Taste of Leimert Park\n\n“There’s such a variety\,” said Jenn Laurent\, who is a representative of the African Marketplace and Drum Circle Farmers’ Market.  “If you start with our food vendors\, we have vendors who do Jamaican food\, vegan food\, and other cultural food like Belizean food.  There’s a barbecue food vendor.  As far as non-food products\, you can get everything from clothing to cultural items like African art and statues.  You can get cultural clothing.” \n\n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHours\nMonday: Closed\nTuesday – Saturday: 10:00am – 5:00pm\nSunday: 11:00am – 5:00pm \n\n\n  \nFor additional information\, visit the website @ \neventbrite.com/e/african-marketplace-drum-circle-certified-farmers-market\n \n  \nFind more \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
