You will need to cross the street and take the steps up to the East Trailhead map sign. \n​ \nUpon arrival\, each participant signs the liability form and the roster. \nYou will have the choice to join a Hike Leader to have a “respectful-distanced” mindful hike experience\, or you may take a self-guided hike. Your Hike Leader will hold space for introductions and mindful pauses during your hike towards the yoga location. Be prepared to say your name\, where you reside\, and your take on the theme of the week. The trail will take us to up to the Bluff where there are restrooms and water fountains. This 2021 Season we will be debuting the Hummingbird trail (Park to Playa trail + Bowl loop)\, which is more flat and takes you through a beautiful hummingbird garden. Both hikes will be about 40-45 minutes. \n​ \nWhat if I only want to do the yoga class\, what is the easiest way to get to yoga at 9 am? \nYou can pay $7 cash for parking\, enter at the La Cienega entrance\, and park right by the Burke Roche picnic area/restrooms. Walk about 2 minutes down the Bluff to the 9/11 Memorial Tree. \n​ \nWho will be teaching the yoga classes? Come run with us. \n48 for Change\nWith the combination of a global pandemic and civil unrest around racial injustice\, June of 2020 set the stage for important societal and human issues to finally come to light in a more permanent way. This was the same time that two friends\, Justin and Tyler\, decided they wanted to take action to make a difference in the injustices and inequality we see in our communities. \n  \n\n\n\nThe week of George Floyd’s passing\, Justin called Tyler voicing his frustration from Floyd’s murder and subsequent reactions\, and they joined forces to do a running challenge that very weekend that entailed running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. A GoFundMe was set up to collect funds from friends and family throughout the running challenge to donate to help support racial justice. \nWhat started as a way to take the mind off of the pressure cooker of injustice resulted in a massively successful and attention-grabbing fundraiser\, and eventually turned into a 501(c)3 nonprofit\, still strong and growing today: 48 For Change. \nAside from fundraising and donating\, Justin found that the community that gathered to run that weekend was something special\, and needed its own spotlight. A place where anyone can come and simply run with a group of good people. Our concise rules incentive women and men to receive the ball equally. And the best part about our group is that we play every Saturday 52 weeks per year and all of our games are 100% FREE.    \nFREE CO-ED PICK UP BEACH FLAG FOOTBALL\n\n\nTwo free pick up games guaranteed. RSVP required to attend. RSVP below. Filed setup begins at 11am. Game begins at 11:30am. Arrive early to warm up and meet people! Remember to bring water. \n\n\n\nRSVP HERE TO PLAY\n  \n\n\nAbout Our Group\n\n\n\n3 FIELDS…6 TEAMS…AND 60 PLAYERS… THE LARGEST AND LONGEST CONTINUOUSLY RUNNING WEEKLY FLAG FOOTBALL GROUP IN THE COUNTRY!\n  \n\n\n\n\nOur Games\n\n We play a fun style of pick-up flag football with NO contact\, taunting\, or other aggressive behavior. “Pick-up” means that the players on each team change weekly. We play 7 on 7 and games run for about an hour. We play two games per event\, but players may come and go as they desire. \nWe play on the beach because it’s fun\, and our members are 28 times less likely to suffer a major injury in the sand than if playing on grass or turf.     \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Location\nWe play @ Santa Monica beach on the sand in front of lifeguard tower 29 near 101 Ocean Front Walk\, Venice\, CA 90291 \n\nYou’ll need to find parking elsewhere. You cannot miss us if you walk up NAVY STREET towards the beach. This 300m course will provide the most spectacular racing imaginable\, and the view from the Pier will be unparalleled in terms of sports entertainment. There will also be amateur\, open sprint racing for all non-professional attendees. \n \nThe Pier-to-Pier Distance Race will provide an iconic and high-performance course for the World’s Best\, leaving from Malibu Pier and finishing at Santa Monica Pier\, a 16km/ 10-mile race. It will be particularly poignant given the significance of this stretch of coastline in history as the regular commute that California’s first Surfer of African American and Latino descent made from Santa Monica to surf up at the famed waves found in Malibu. This course is also open to all pro-am and amateur racers. \nThe Santa Monica City Paddle Festival will mark the launch of our global corporate challenge\, the APP Nautical mile\, which is an immersive team-building experience\, which takes place in the heart of Major Cities across the globe as an integrated element of the APP World Tour’s City Paddle Festivals.
