Audiences can go online to watch the LA Philharmonic perform at the Hollywood Bowl. Their new series is called SOUND/STAGE. \nThe LA Phil won’t hold live performances until at least June 2021. But you can now virtually watch them play at the Hollywood Bowl. The new series is called SOUND/STAGE. \n \nSOUND/STAGE is a new online collection of concert films and interviews\, essays\, and artwork that offer deeper insights into the music. Performances range from orchestral concerts featuring Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil to sets from Kamasi Washington\, Andra Day\, and Chicano Batman. \nEach week there’s a different program. Gustavo Dudamel conducts Gustav Mahler one week\, and Jazz composer Kamasi Washington performs another week. Other musicians include Chicano Batman and Andra Day. DESCRIPTION:OPEN DAILY- The Annenberg Community Beach House \nThe Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach is a public facility located on 5 acres of oceanfront property. With spectacular views\, splash pad\, playground\, gallery\, Marion Davies Guest House\, beach courts & fields\, community & cultural events\, historic pool\, free wi-fi\, and more\, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! \n  \n \nSPLASH PAD\nThe Splash Pad is a water feature that shoots water out of the ground and is very popular with small children.\nThe courtyard and splash pad will open daily May – October\, 9am-4pm. \n  \n \nChildren’s Playground\nThere is a children’s playground featuring swings\, climbing play-sets\, and of course a sandy area to play. There are benches\, chairs\, and tables for adults to sit while the kids play.  \n\n\nBeach Soccer & Volleyball Courts\nYou may reserve beach soccer or volleyball courts 4 weeks in advance for $10/hour during the summer pool season. Beach court and field reservations are intended for individual or small party use only. Reservations are not required for court or field use. Courts without reservations are available on a first-come first-served basis for free. Nets are adjustable and may be lowered for beach tennis play.  \n \nThe Annenberg Beach House Grounds\nThe grounds are open to all\, no membership required.\nGrounds include playground\, beach areas\, and courts. \n  \nBack on the Beach Cafe\nNestled on a wide stretch of sandy beach\, Back on the Beach Café offers appetizing meals featuring local and seasonal cuisine with breathtaking views of ocean\, mountain\, pier\, and Catalina Island. Generations of Angelinos have been coming to our landmark restaurant since 1989. Both indoor & outdoor seating is available along with extensive catering services and event planning. Our Spot is a FREE after-school program for teens ages 12-18\, providing a fun\, safe and supportive place where teens can check-in daily\, Monday through Friday all year long. Programming takes on a strength-based approach engaging youth from our communities to explore their unique and collective lived experiences through various forms of recreation programming\, visual arts sessions\, social action activities\, and educational field trips. Focus is placed on aiding teens in setting meaningful goals to accomplish individually and collaboratively through peer-to-peer leadership\, art\, special gatherings\, and park engagement. \nOur SPOT has been a safe haven for teens after school – providing a place to make friends\, participate in fun activities and learn self-esteem. While Los Angeles County shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020\, so did many of the after school and youth serving organizations in Los Angeles County. However\, Our SPOT stayed connected with teens through virtual programming available live on mobile devices and smartphones. Clinics focus on building foundational skills\, self-confidence and teamwork. Maximum group size is 15-youth and a minimum enrollment of 12 youth is required for each group. Age groups are as follows: 6-8 years old (1 hour)\, 9-12 years old (1 hour)\, 6-8 years old (2 hours)\, 8-12 years old (2 hours) The clinic runs from June 19 thru August 7 at select park sites on Saturdays\n\nREVIVING BASEBALL IN THE INNER CITY (RBI) New!\n\nThe RBI Program is offered FREE to boys and girls between the ages of 6 – 18. Participants obtain basic baseball and softball skills through structured practices and organized recreational games. The program is offered at 17 County Parks in the South and East Agencies. A uniform is provided at no cost. Space is limited. Dodger RBI runs from June 19 thru August 28\, Monday thru Saturday at select sites. This program is sponsored by the LA Dodgers.\n\nLEARN-TO-SWIM New!\n\nOur progressive swim lessons teach swimming skills\, stroke technique and water safety while encouraging a lifelong love of the water. The program is designed to give students a positive learning experience while progressing steadily through the skills. Each level includes swimming skills as well as water safety lessons both for pools and open water. All levels follow the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program. Classes are offered Monday thru Friday with both morning and evening time available and Saturday mornings beginning June 21.\n\nADULT WATER EXERCISE New!\n\nWater Exercise can conform to almost any individual needs\, abilities or restrictions. You can adjust the size and speed of your movements to change the level of exertion that best fits your needs. Water exercise can be done no matter what your age\, weight or physical fitness level is because water keeps the body buoyant and therefore does not unduly stress the joints and muscles. When doing water exercise\, it is the water\, not your legs\, that supports your weight. The first session starts June 15.\n\nPARKS RESERVATIONS New!\n\nLA County Parks is open for reservation requests for limited facilities\, like picnic areas.
