MOVA International is taking over Cervecería Del Pueblo on October 6, 2021, from 6-9 pm to celebrate World Space Week!
There will be a special guest panel discussion with Cosmologist Sophia Gad-Nasr, Author and Scientist Andrew Rader, and Propulsion Engineer and Educator Diana Alsindy—moderated by former NASA JPL Flight Software Test Engineer Matthew Harris. We’ll be chatting about space exploration, women in space, the future of space travel, and more.
MOVA will also be raffling off some out-of-this-world prizes that you won’t want to miss!
Admission is free and a portion of all beverage sales from the night will be donated to World Space Week Association—an organization working to strengthen the link between space and society through public education, participation, and dialogue on the future of space activity.
We can’t wait to see you there!

Diana Alsindy is a Propulsion Engineer and the founder of @TheArabianStargazer. She received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (2017) from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Originally from Baghdad, Diana is an Iraqi immigrant who has been passionate about engineering since she was 10 years old, watching her grandfather weld metal plates in a small machine shop in the backyard of their home in Baghdad. She was named a Gordon Engineering Leadership Fellow and a Brooke Owens Fellow in 2017. Diana worked with multiple aerospace companies like NASA JPL, Northrop Grumman, Virgin Orbit and Space Micro. Her responsibilities ranged from design, test and analyze propulsion systems on liquid propellant rockets.
In October 2018, Diana founded @TheArabianStargazer; a bilingual educational platform that promotes STEM to the Arab youth all around the world. The platform includes videos, pictures and riddles about subjects such as “Why should I be an Engineer?” and “How does Space Exploration helps us here on Earth?” She aspires to inspire the youth especially in the Middle Eastern community to be more engaged in space exploration and STEM. Diana hosts virtual classes with schools that do not have access to engineering resources, where she uses fun and easy engineering concepts and props to explain Science and Space. Diana’s ultimate goal is to develop a student camp across the Middle East that will be equipped with resources, materials and opportunities for students to learn tangible skill-sets about Engineering and Science.

MOVA International was created with a simple premise – that life should be savored. Founded in 2003, MOVA International is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Our one-of-a-kind product, the MOVA Globe, was created by Bill French in his basement in a small San Diego beach town, Cardiff-by-the-Sea. A physicist and inventor, Bill was inspired by his love for solar energy and magnetism.
Each globe has a transparent outer shell, made from carefully selected, high-quality acrylic, that remains stationary while an internal one rotates using advanced magnets for torque and solar cells to power the movement. No batteries. No wires. Just light. MOVA Globes transcend style barriers with a product that is equal parts luxury décor, a techie’s dream and magic.
