Pluto TV has added 7 new channel of the best in Black entertainment. These channels include VH1 Unscripted, VH1 Hip Hop Family, BET Her, BET Homecoming, VH1 Love & Hip Hop, VH1 Black Ink Crew, and VH1 RuPaul’s Drag Race.

VH1’s Unscripted channel is a curated collection of classic reality hits featuring high-profile figures from the worlds of sports, music, and entertainment. Whether they’re living the high life, reinventing themselves, hustling to the next level, or refocusing on family, they’re all just trying to find their balance. Watch to follow along as they navigate relationships, careers, and a whole lot of drama!
Hip hop has a new home. VH1’s Hip Hop Family channel brings two famous hip-hop families together under one roof. Watch T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle from the beginning, where the Harris family works together to navigate parenthood, their careers, and the next chapter of their lives. Run’s House chronicles the family life of Rev Run, legendary rapper from Run-DMC and hip hop pioneer.
Welcome to the first and only channel for black women! Bringing you a first-of-its-kind experience that celebrates, inspires, and supports black women, BET Her is a destination that includes a mix of blockbuster hits, classic movies, music, and original series all featuring black women. As the premiere destination for stories by and for black women, this channel promises you authenticity and a front-row seat to the women leading the global influence in music, fashion, celebrity, and entertainment.
BET Homecoming is a channel dedicated to celebrating the legacies and culture of historically black colleges and universities. Explore life on real and fictional historically black campuses though iconic TV series, movies and music videos.

But why complicate things when Pluto TV is, at its core, really simple?

Owned by ViacomCBS, Pluto TV is a live-TV streaming service, not entirely unlike Sling TV and such competitors as DirecTV Now, Hulu+ Live TV, or other similar services. But unlike those services which offer streaming access to channels you’d find on cable TV, Pluto TV offers free content mainly curated from what’s already available online. Pluto TV launched in 2014 and picked up steam fairly quickly making it the largest free TV streaming service in the U.S.
You’re not going to find standard TV channels, though some are represented via their web counterparts, especially news outlets. Those include familiar names like Bloomberg, Cheddar, CNBC, MSNBC, CBSN, and many others. As of April 2019, it also includes CNN, though not the full, live CNN you get on cable. Instead, the CNN channel features a curated playlist of short-form digital content from CNN’s anchors and reporters. Featured clips are oriented toward lifestyle and culture, climate change, the environment, and original CNN investigations and interviews. A similar channel for NBC called NBC News Now arrived in February 2020. Other recent additions to Pluto include CMT, Kevin Hart’s Laugh out Loud, and Red Bull TV, plus a handful of new themed channels in Celebrity, Reality, and Lives, the perfect cocktail for pop culture and reality TV enthusiasts.
Sports coverage is less conventional — you’re not going to find the likes of ESPN here. Instead, you’ll find choices like Fight, World Poker Tour, Impact Wrestling, a dedicated Sports News network, Glory Kickboxing, and the Big Sky Network. DAZN recently signed a deal to provide an original weekly series on Pluto TV, and there’s potential for that partnership to expand down the line. Pluto has recently added an official PGA Tour channel with 24/7 coverage of one of golf’s biggest tournaments.
In the Entertainment section, there are reruns of reality and documentary shows alongside episodes of Dennis the Menace, Thunderbirds, and other older TV shows. Among those various channels, you’ll also find Wipeout, a network that only shows reruns of the popular game show and various iterations from different countries, as well as Nosey, which shows reruns of The Jerry Springer Show and The Maury Show, among others. Meanwhile, the Curiosity section features Science TV, Docu TV, Xive TV, and even a NASA live stream. New additions include Pluto TV Sitcoms, offering a selection of older comedies like 3rd Rock from the Sun and The Lucy Show, and a Spanish-language channel called Pluto TV Cine.
