SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

DELGADO BROTHERS – July 23

DELGADO_BROTHERS

Propelled by their 2016 International Blues Competition win in Memphis, Tennessee, The Delgado Brothers are a well-known name throughout Southern California. For over 30 years they have played their brand of Latin blues, roots, soul, and reggae together as a family and have been a featured act in the Ventura County Blues Society’s Blues festivals, the 40th Anniversary of Santa Barbara’s Blues Society concert and more.

SWEET SEASONS, A Tribute to Carole King – July 30

SWEET_SEASONS

Sweet Seasons is a tribute to the legendary Carole King. There have been few singer/songwriters that have been as prolific and impactful as Carole King. Driven by an intense love and admiration for Carole’s music, seasoned tribute artist Carla Buffa felt compelled to assemble an excellent group of musicians to pay homage to King’s legend with a show that includes all of the chart-topping hits that you’ve come to know and love over the years. Buffa is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who has been a professional musician, performing nationally and internationally for over 30 years.

BEACH ST. A GO GO – August 6

BEACH_STREET

This six-person family-friendly event band located out of Valley Village, California has a big sound, made up of professional hard-working musicians who all have many years of entertainment experience under their belts. Founded in 2011 in Palm Coast, Florida by male lead singer and rhythm guitarist TJ Rosenman, BEACH St. A Go Go! A Tribute To The Groovy Sounds Of The ’60s…LIVE! has entertained thousands of people at festivals, concerts, city, and corporate events, private functions, social clubs, car shows, nightclubs, and more.

VOPA ROCKS: Classic Rock – August 13

VOPA_ROCKS

The birth of Valley Opera & Performing Arts (VOPA) has been a long time coming. After nearly fifteen years of creating glorious music and theater as Center Stage Opera, we decided that our company name should reflect all the musical genres we encompass: Opera, Musical Theater, Jazz, and even Rock ‘n Roll. We are most definitely still an opera company, and we remain committed to filling the need for classical vocal arts in the community. However, our love for music and theater extends beyond the classical arts into other musical genres as well.

NOHO DO’S AND DONT’S

For your comfort, you may bring blankets, low chairs (under 3 ft. in height), tarps, and pillows. Canopies, umbrellas, or EZ-ups are permitted UNTIL the concert starts. Once the announcements begin, you must take these items down. You may NOT use stakes to keep your blankets in place as they are a safety hazard. There are to be no grills or open flames of any kind in the park. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. Please keep animals tethered and respect your neighbors by being mindful of your space and the view of others.

ABOUT VALLEY CULTURAL FOUNDATION

Our Mission

Valley Cultural Foundation embraces the diversity of talent, community, business, and education, by providing live entertainment programs and events in the arts.

Our History

Founded in 1975 to assist the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation & Parks in bringing arts and culture to the San Fernando Valley, the Valley Cultural Foundation has been at the forefront of culture, arts, and arts education for more than 45 years.

The Valley Cultural Foundation’s free Concerts in the Park was launched in 1975 under the guidance of our first chairwoman, educator Lou Bredlow. Today, the concerts are still presented free of charge and enjoyed by more than 140,000 Valley residents each year. First presented in Shadow Ranch Park, our concerts have a permanent home at the Lou Bredlow Pavilion in Warner Center Park. Built on land generously donated by the Harry Warner family in 1967, the Pavilion was built for $1.3 million dollars, $1,000,000 of which came from Quimby funds and $300,000 from the Valley Cultural Foundation’s donors. Today, we hold a 25-year lease on the Pavilion from the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation & Parks, and the facility is used for a variety of our cultural and arts activities.
