RANGER LED HIKE TO INSPIRATION- Malibu
Start off the new year with a short hike in one of the most stunning locales in the Santa Monica Mountains – King Gillette Ranch. This site is situated in the heart of the Malibu Creek Watershed and by the confluence of some major tributaries. This scenic parkland at the lower end of the Las Virgenes Valley is a haven for large mammals living in the Santa Monica Mountains.
This new year hike is a short, somewhat steep, stroll that leads to a knoll, known as Inspiration Point. At the top, you’ll be greeted with 360-degree views which include the famous rock formations of Malibu Creek State Park.
Directions:
From the 101 Freeway: Exit Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon. Head south on Las Virgenes Road for three miles and turn left onto Mullholland Highway. The park entrance is .1 mile on the right.
From Pacific Coast Highway: Head north on Malibu Canyon Roads for approximately seven miles and turn right onto Mullholland Highway. The park entrance is .1 on the right.
We will meet at the fountain courtyard in front of the restrooms.
