Jazz at LACMA is back! We return to open seating and picnicking on the grounds.

The free concerts are presented Friday evenings 6:00pm -8:00pm from April to November.

Jazz at LACMA: Matt Gordy JazzTonite Sextet

Celebrate L.A.’s finest jazz musicians with Jazz at LACMA, presented Friday evenings from April to November.

This week, join us for a concert with the Matt Gordy JazzTonite Sextet.

After a successful 40-year career, Matt Gordy has released his second album, Be With Me, a showcase for Gordy’s considerable talents as a drummer, arranger, and composer. Gordy’s diverse career has included performances and tours with Tony Bennett, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Jaki Byard, the Boston Symphony, and Orquesta Sinfonica de Maracaibo.

Jazz at LACMA is a celebration of L.A.’s finest jazz musicians and has featured such legends as Wayne Shorter, The Yellowjackets, Quincy Jones All Star Orchestra with John Clayton, Arturo Sandoval, Jeff Lorber, Billy Childs, Tierney Sutton, Ernie Watts, and many more. Concerts are broadcast on KJAZZ (88.1 FM) every Sunday evening from 7–9 pm and include interviews with featured performers. Jazz at LACMA is produced under the direction of Director of Music Programs Mitch Glickman.

Jazz at LACMA is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Broadcasts are made possible through the support of the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl. Promotional support is provided by media sponsor KJAZZ 88.1.

RSVP for a reminder email. Seating is limited and first come, first served. Visitors are required to wear face masks in all indoor spaces including restrooms, regardless of vaccination status. Unvaccinated visitors are encouraged to wear face masks outdoors. A well-fitting medical-grade mask, surgical mask, or higher-level respirator such as an N95 or KN95 mask is strongly recommended.
