Exhibition Openings at Fowler Museum at UCLA

A special reception at the Fowler marking the return of late hours on Wednesdays and our recently opened exhibitions.

The Fowler is pleased to welcome the UCLA community and the public to a special evening marking the return of late hours on Wednesdays, and to a celebration of our recently opened exhibitions, Aboriginal Screen-Printed Textiles from Australia’s Top End and ‘How Do You See This World?’: The Art of Almighty God. Join us to hear from exhibition curators, and enjoy a reception with Australian and Ghanaian musical entertainment, food, and drink.

Aboriginal Screen-Printed Textiles from Australia’s Top End

December 5, 2021 – June 19, 2022

This vibrant exhibition invites us to explore more than 70 screen-printed textiles made by contemporary artists at five Aboriginal-owned art centers in Australia’s Northern Territory.

‘How Do You See This World?’: The Art of Almighty God

January 16, 2022 – May 5, 2022

This retrospective of paintings by prolific Ghanaian artist Kwame Akoto (b. 1950), known as “Almighty God” to his friends and acquaintances, ranges in subject from portraiture to Christian themes, to commentaries on the world’s problems.

Aboriginal Screen-Printed Textiles from Australia’s Top End is organized by the Fowler Museum at UCLA.
