JULY 27 SUSIE HANSEN LATIN BAND

The Susie Hansen Latin Band plays salsa and Latin jazz — salsa, cumbia, merengue, cha cha cha, bolero and bachata. The band has been together for 32 years. Susie plays the electric violin and sings, and the the Long Beach Press-Telegram has called her “a hot Latin fiddler and bandleader.” Lead vocalist Daniel Castillo from Venezuela also plays congas. Electric guitarist Kaspar Abbo from London England sings lead vocals in English. Also in her six-piece band are piano, bass and drums/timbales.
Hansen has performed with Cuba’s premier dance band, Los Van Van, both in Los Angeles and in Havana, Cuba. She has also played with Orquesta Aragon, Cuba’s preeminent Charanga band. She performed or recorded with Tito Puente, Paquito d’Rivera, Vikki Carr, Macy Gray, Orquesta Broadway, Giovani Hidalgo, Jose Rizo’s Jazz on the Latin Side All-Stars and others.
Susie also pursued an education in math and computer science, ultimately earning two master’s degrees in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), but ultimately her musical career took precedence. She has released three albums on the Jazz Caliente label. An original Latin jazz song Susie wrote, “Las Calles de Chicago,” has been on rotation with Sirius Satellite Radio for eleven years. The song, “La Salsa Nunca Se Acaba,” has been popular across the country and around the world for the past seventeen years, regularly selling hundreds of downloads to this day. Her CD “Solo Flight” was named by Latin Beat Magazine as one of its “Top One Hundred Independent Latin Jazz Recordings.”
AUGUST 3 RUMBA ACOUSTIC BAND

Rumba Acoustic band has been performing Persian all time favorite songs for the last ten years in the Los Angeles area with their own unique approach.
AUGUST 10 SMOKIN’ COBRAS

The Smokin’ Cobras perform classic AM radio’s greatest hits from the fabulous 50’s, rockin’ 60’s, funky 70’s and restro 80’s. Hit songs from soul, to rock and pop, and back again. High energy. Big show. Iconic artists. From Dodger Stadium to Japan, The Smokin’ Cobras have thrilled audiences at festivals, casinos, corporate functions and private events.

AUGUST 17 THE TOKENS
Throughout the sixties, The Tokens wrote, produced and recorded some of music’s most well known songs. Besides their smash recording of, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” they also had hits with “Tonight I fell in Love,” “I Hear Trumpets Blow,” and “Portrait of My Love.” Successfully transitioning to the other side of the recording booth, they produced The Chiffons’ “He’s So Fine,” and “One Fine Day,” The Happenings, “See You in September,” and “I Got Rhythm,” and Tony Orlando & Dawn’s “Candida,” “Knock Three Times,” and “Tie a Yellow Ribbon.” The Token were also the first group to play their own instrument tracks for recording sessions.
AUGUST 24 DAVID GAB

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, David Gab has been performing music in front of audiences of #0,000+ with his band, GT Batumi. David Gab has participated in The Voice in Georgia, and he lived in Sydney, Australia where he released two EP and LP albums. Gab collaborated with the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and filmed his music video, “I Like it Up.” Besides being the lead vocalist, he is also a multi-instrumentalist ranging from romantic love songs on the piano, to rock’ out on the guitar and drums. Like other musicians, he was inspired by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley and Deep Purple. Gab is currently working with musicians, Leland Sklar, Bassist with Toto, Phil Collins and James Taylor; and, Steve Ferrone, drummer for the late Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers, and The Dire Straits. Gab is a member of the Grammy Recording Academy and BMI Music.
