HISTORY
In 1997 the Cultural Affairs Department established The Eagle Rock Community Cultural Center (ERCCC). The mission of the ERCCC was to provide cultural events to the community, to serve as the hub of cultural exchange and the cornerstone of economic renewal through the development of a cultural corridor. Bylaws were adopted in December establishing a Board of Directors, Officers of the Board, Committees, and membership.
On January 21, 1998, the new Board of Directors held a Formation Meeting outlining the criteria for Board and Community Membership. The Eagle Rock Community Cultural Association soon began doing business as the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock.

MISSION
Our mission in arts education is to inspire a passion for artistic expression in each student we reach by expanding their concept of what can be considered art. Our teachers combine art history, play-based learning, and their own studio practices to create classes that give students a place to explore artistic boundaries and establish community. The education program at Center for the Arts Eagle Rock is expanding significantly this year.

IMAGINE STUDIO
Since 1998, the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock has been offering innovative arts programming to a diverse audience of children and young adults in schools and community groups throughout Northeast Los Angeles.
By bringing the arts back into LAUSD, we are investing in our youth. We currently serve 2,600 students at 19 elementary and middle schools in Northeast Los Angeles, many of which have Title 1 status, through our after-school arts enrichment program, Imagine Studio. Our teachers build their classes into a small community, where freedom of expression feels safe and positive. Taught by local working artists, our classes are highly student-motivated and project-oriented.

ART CAMPS
Center for the Arts Eagle Rock welcomes artists ages 6-12 to explore and create in our exciting week-long programs. Our art camps run for several weeks over Summer break, and one week during Winter break. Each week, campers explore visual art, performance, sculpture, architecture, textiles, writing, and more.
Our teachers are local, contemporary artists who combine art history, play-based learning, and their own studio practices to create a curriculum that gives campers the opportunity to explore artistic expression and establish community. Each week culminates in an art exhibition and performance created by the students and facilitated by the teachers. We have up to 45 campers each week, and classes are led by 3 teachers and 3 teaching assistants.
